NAVTEX receiver

An automatic receiver that prints navigational warnings, weather forecasts and distress relays broadcast for the sea area the ship is in.

GMDSS VHF-DSC radio installation

The short-range VHF radio with digital selective calling — the everyday and distress voice channel to ships and shore stations nearby, part of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System.

EPIRB

The Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon: it floats free if the ship sinks and automatically alerts the satellite rescue system with the ship's identity and position.
